Dr. Dave Baker was born in Columbia, TN and lived in a small town called Santa Fe. When he was 12 he moved with his family to Ft. Madison, IA. From there he went in to the Army where he was a paratrooper. In the Army he got right with God, surrendered to preach, and went to Hyles-Anderson College, in Hammond, Indiana. He was led by God to start the Lighthouse Baptist Church in 1993. He and his wife Laura have nine children; David (4-29-91), Sarah (2-20-93), Alyssa (6-29-95), Jonathan (9-13-97), Mark (7-20-99), Darick (1-13-01), Grant (7-1-02), Laurissa (12-9-03), Cameron (4-30-05), their 10th child is due in Dec 2007. Laura Baker is the eighth child of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Middleton's fourteen children. After their fourth child, they, like the rest of the world, were going to stop having children. While praying and reading her Bible, Mrs. Middleton felt led of God to have as many children as God intended for them to have. She then had ten more. The last ten have all surrendered to full-time Christian service. Laura Baker is the wife of
Pastor Dave Baker, as well as a teacher in their Christian school. Mrs.
Baker has a Master's Degree in Education and also teaches piano lessons.

Bro. Steve Wipf was saved while serving in the U.S. Navy. He felt God’s call on his life at Pastor School under Dr. Jack Hyles’ preaching. The following year Bro. Wipf went to Hyles-Anderson College in Hammond, Indiana and was very active under the leadership of Dr. Jeff Owens. Bro. Wipf is a graduate of Hyles-Anderson College and later moved to Columbia, Tennessee in 1996. He has been active at Lighthouse Baptist Church since his arrival. Bro. Wipf is currently the Assistant Pastor, Missions Director, Christian School Administrator, a teacher and bus captain. He and his wife Peggy have five children; Craig (11/97), Joshua (7/99), Jason (11/00), Caleb (5/02), and Jeffrey.

Ms. Sheryl Williams is our church secretary. She is a 1975 graduate of Midwestern Baptist Bible College in Pontiac, Michigan. After graduation, she and her husband worked with Bro. Lester Roloff in Corpus Christi, Texas for five years. In 1980, they started a church in San Pedro, California, where they served for ten years. She came to Columbia as a single mom in 1993 and has been at our church ever since. She became our part-time secretary in 1994 and was hired full-time in 1995. She has four children, two great son-in-laws, and one granddaughter; Kim & Chuck Ertelt, in Redondo Beach, California, Tricia, also in Redondo Beach, Kris & Joel Kercado & Taylor (6) in Columbia, and Robbie, in Heaven since 8/9/97. Ms. Williams teaches our Single Adult Ladies Class and also works in our Junior Church Program.

Bro. Elkin Harnage was saved at the age of 26 at Grace Independent Baptist Church. He then surrendered his life to preach the Word of God and soon became involved in the ministries there. He served as Youth Pastor, Junior Director, Bus Director, and Assistant Pastor, seeing God bless in great ways. He served in Georgia at the Grace Independent Baptist Church for almost 8 years. In the year of 2005 he moved his family to Dr. Jeff Owens church the Shenandoah Bible Baptist Church in Martinsburg, WV, there he served 9 months, during that time, an opportunity came up to serve at Lighthouse Baptist Church and he felt God's leading to move to Columbia, TN. He is a humble servant of God who has dedicated his life to reaching people for Jesus. Bro. Harnage is currently the Assistant Pastor, Bus Director and Sunday School teacher of the Dunamis Class. He and his wife Karen have 3 children James (11/19), Johnathon (4/20), and Justin (8/22). His vision for Lighthouse Baptist Church is for a unified group of Christians to grow in their day-to-day walk with God and to reach as many people for the Lord before His return. Bro. Harnage, his wife Karen, and their children are excited about what God is doing here at Lighthouse Baptist Church here in Maury County and beyond. They invite you to be a part of the growth and excitement of the Lighthouse Baptist Church.

Ms. Perine came to Lighthouse Baptist Church in June of 2000. She moved to Columbia, TN from Ohio because of this church. She had been praying for a good church where she could grow, and God lead her here. Lighthouse Baptist Church has been true to its name. It has been a lighthouse for her children and her. Since she has been here, they have all got saved and baptized, and have grown in the Lord. When she first came here, she wanted so much to stay close to God and do right and help in every way she could. She came to the church every day and volunteered to do whatever needed to be done. She really liked being at this church and helping. The people here are so friendly and helpful. When she started working outside the church, she still came and volunteered in her spare time. In the middle of 2001, she got hired part-time at the church. She was so thrilled! Now she could do what she loved to do and get paid for it too. Eventually, she got hired on full-time, and now this is what she gets to do all the time. She is involved in a lot of our ministries also, and she just loves God, our preacher and this church.

Bro Holman came to LBC in January of 2000 after being a Columbia native since 1988. Bro Gary was saved December 8th, 1974 and called to Evangelism a short time later. His preparation took him to Tennessee Temple University where he majored in Bible and minored in Psychology. While there he learned from a great man of God, Dr Lee Roberson. Other Great preachers have been instrumental influences such as Dr Jack Hyles, Dr Curtis Hutson, Dr John R Rice and Dr Tom Wallace. Since coming to LBC Bro Holman has served as an adult Sunday School Teacher, Head Usher, helped to establish our Radio Station WVOO FM 107.1. In 2004 he was ordained to the Servants Board and in January 2005 was licensed to Preach. He preaches/teaches weekly in our Jail Ministry and is the Director of our Reformers Unanimous Chapter, a faith-based Christ centered addictions program. Bro Holman has a heavy burden for the addicted and religiously lost (Please Click here to hear his testimony Preached 05/14/2000). He and his wife Sharon have seven children, nine grandchildren and are excited about serving the Lord together here at Lighthouse Baptist Church.
