January 2005
Dear Praying Friends,
As we look back over the year of 2004, we realize how unworthy we are to be in the ministry. Yet still, by the grace of God, He loved us and chose us to serve Him here in Brazil. We praise the Lord for all He did during the past year. People were saved and baptized, marriages were helped, families were strengthened, and lives were changed. Our prayer and desire is that He will use us in a greater way during 2005!
Let me tell you about a deaf man named Maico. His family (deaf wife and hearing children) first visited our church in August of 2004. Cindy and I went to their home in September to tell them about Jesus. Maico was not home from work yet, but his wife, Meire, got saved that evening. Soon after that visit, they moved. Praise the Lord we were able to find their new house. After several attempts, we finally found Maico at home. He was glad to let us show him how he could know for sure he would be in Heaven someday. On January 6, Maico trusted Jesus to save him! Please pray for his family to come to church.
Our family is doing well. Cindy is the only one in our family that does not have dual citizenship; she only has one passport. The rest of us have two passports each. That means that for a family of five, we have nine passports. Praise the Lord all our paper work is in order to travel to the States, but there is still much to do during the last couple of months.
Though we do not want to leave the ministry here in Brazil, we are excited about being with our supporting churches and some new churches during the next year. We will be in the States this coming April. We are already booking meetings, so let us know if there is a specific time of the year that you would like us to be in your church. You many contact us by phone (011-55-62-286-1124) or by e-mail (Johnsonsinbrazil@aol.com).
Please be in prayer for our deaf work and church here in Brazil. We are preparing the Brazilian people who will take our place while we are on furlough. Thank you for your faithful support. "Brethren, pray for us." I Thess. 5:25
In His service,
Carl and Cindy Johnson
