Hi! Sunday, Joy and I returned from taking Jordan to New Tribes Bible
Institute in Waukesha, Wisconsin. At this writing he has been in classes
for 4 days. He is adjusting. NTBI is a private Bible school that offers a
two year Bible program that immerses it's students in the Word while
emphasizing missions. Though it is the first step in the 4 year training
program that New Tribes Mission offers for it's missionary candidates it
does not necessarily indicate that Jordan is "signing up" for a missionary
career with NTM. What it does communicate is his desire to grasp some
deeper truths in the Word of God. It is also a good atmosphere for which he
can begin to be an independent young man. We are praying that he will grow
in all areas and mature as a young man and as a follower of Jesus Christ.
No doubt the Lord will also provide him with direction regarding his future
as well.
These days Jordan is eagerly pursuing a job. He desperately needs to find
something soon to enable him to keep up with the financial demands. Because
NTBI is staffed by missionary personnel from NTM there is no tuition fee but
there are room, board, book and processing fees that he need to funded. We
are praying that he will find work that will accommodate these needs but in
a job that will provide optimal opportunity to study as well. Please pray
with us regarding this need for Jordan.
Two fellow students I'd also like to mention are Kees (pronounced "Case")
Vanderhout and Zack Cestare. Kees is from Holland and was one of our dorm
kids in PNG. He stayed with us for two weeks prior to his departure to
NTBI. Being that is not American and here on a student visa he cannot work
a regular job. He'll need the Lord's financial provision as well. Zack is
from a church in the Pittsburgh area and attended the weekly Bible study at
our home. Because of his interest in missions, I encouraged him to consider
some Bible training. He jumped at the possibility to attend NTBI. He is
looking for permanent work as well.
Though our whole family misses Jordan being around, we are all doing well.
Grant and Lindsay are busy into the second semester in school and finishing
up the basketball season. Joy continues to deal with her health issues but
always finds ways to encourage others. I will be very busy this month in
preparing some material for some upcoming speaking engagements.
We are grateful for your continued interest and prayer for our family. I
trust the New Year is progressing well for you and honoring your commitments
to serve Him. Have a good weekend.
Jeff

Because we depended solely on the airplane to get supplies, medical attention and travel in and out of the bush, I thought I'd pass this on. This is a forwarded E-mail I received from the flight department in Papua New Guinea. Quite an opportunity if anyone feels led of the Lord to contribute.
Thanks,
Jeff
Today the Cessna 206 aircraft operated by New Tribes Mission Aviation (NTMA) in Papua New Guinea (PNG) are powered by avgas. Avgas is becoming increasingly hard to obtain in PNG. Currently NTMA orders it in 55 gallon drums, a truckload at a time. This requires a lot of handling and extra work. The Mobil Oil Company says it won’t be very long until they will no longer supply avgas to PNG. However, the new KODIAK airplane runs on jet fuel, which is readily available and less expensive.
New Tribes Mission Aviation in Papua New Guinea continues to have a shortage of pilots. This new KODIAK aircraft would help to compensate for this shortage, making flights more efficient. Dave Ogg, a NTM missionary in PNG says, “Our family has grown to a total of six, and we can no longer all fit on a Cessna 206 aircraft with our luggage. This means that every time we need to come into the tribe with our family, we need 2 roundtrip flights with the Cessna 206 to get us all in…The Kodiak would be a real blessing to our family, and families all over Papua New Guinea working in similar situations.”
New Tribes Mission Aviation in PNG would like to replace the current fleet of old Cessna 206’s with new KODIAK’s. Each Kodiak will sell for about $1.1 million. Quest Aircraft Company has given New Tribes Mission a window of opportunity, to purchase these aircraft at their cost estimated to be $750,000. On top of that, Quest will match funds up to $375,000 for each $375,000 deposit that NTM forwards to them for a KODIAK. That means right now we can get one of these 1.1 million dollar planes for only $375,000.
During Offer: After Offer:
$375,000 $1,111,000
x 4 planes x 4 planes
= $1,500,000 =$4,444,000
If you would like to see the DVD that gives more details about this incredible opportunity, please contact the address below. It will be exciting to see how the Lord is going to provide these aircraft for us.
You can make a difference. If God is leading you to participate in this incredible opportunity, specifically to help NTMA in PNG financially to obtain these 4 aircraft, please designate your gift “KODIAK for PNG”. For more information contact:
